About Audrey

take a look into my life, my passion for love, and my commitments to you.

Hi, I'm Audrey

she/her/hers

I’m originally from Kentucky, grew up in Nashville, and now call Albuquerque home! I’ve also lived in Canada and the Florida Panhandle, and traveling has always been a huge source of inspiration for me. Costa Rica, espically, will always have a special place in my heart because it was my first big adventure abroad and where I learned to surf.

I first picked up a camera as a child, but my college junior year film photography class is what truly sparked my love for film. Spending time in the dark room developing film by hand made me fall in love with a slower and more intentional approach, and honestly, I still miss it sometimes.

My partner and I met at the Hangout Music Festival in Alabama, and these days we share life with two dogs, including our “supposed to be 40-pound” puppy who somehow grew into 80 pounds, and a cat.

Fun facts about me

A few things I love

01. The most unforgettable hike I've done so far is the Beehive Trail in Acadia National Park, Maine.

02. I love discovering elopement locations through the endless travel books and pamphlets I've collected over the years.

03. The most unexpected and unique country I've visited is Macedonia. Their slow food movement is amazing!

04. Two of the most unforgettable experiences I’ve had were horseback riding through the mountains just outside of Glacier National Park and taking a helicopter to a glacier in Palmer, Alaska.

05. The country with my favorite food is Italy. The pasta, pizza, and seafood (and wine!) are unforgettable!

I got married in 2024, and we truly did it our way, events that were deeply personal to us while including the people who matter most, our family. Growing up in a large, tight-knit family, weddings were woven into the fabric of my life. By the time I was 15, I had attended more weddings than most adults ever will in their lifetime, and I absolutely loved them. My cousins’ weddings were (and still are) a highlight of my year. Celebrating someone’s love, to me, is one of the most beautiful and intimate experiences you can be invited to witness. It’s a profound act of trust—being asked to support, encourage, and nurture their relationship through the years to come.

I realize that everyone chooses to elope, have an intimate wedding or a big wedding for many different reasons, but I promise that whatever you choose, for whatever reason, on that day and every day leading up to it (and after) I will not just be your photographer or planning assistant, I will become your friend. I will cheer you on. I will help you out when you need it. I will be your safe space to vent and I will be there on your big day to memorialize a day that truly is once in a life time.

I vow to empower you to celebrate your relationship in a way that is unique as you promise your lives to each other because this moment deserves to be meaningful and unforgettable. Where you get married matters; how you say your vows matters; and who you choose to spend the day with matters. Be intentional with every part of YOUR day.

WHAT'S UNIQUE ABOUT WORKING WITH ME

I believe in

RESPECTING OUR WORLD AND ALL THOSE WHO LIVE WITHIN IT

honesty

I seek to create a safe space for us to engage authentically--for you to be your most authentic self, and for me to be mine. In order to do that, I practice open, honest, and proactive communication. I want you to feel educated and prepared for our time together, and if you don't, I want to give you the opportunity to ask any question under the sun.

inclusivity

I believe that love is love, and take joy in photographing love of all kinds. I seek to capture memories with couples of all sexualities, nationalities, and backgrounds. I also respect and value the diverse cultures I engage with during my travels. When you choose me as your photographer, you are choosing to uphold these values across all landscapes.

Responsibility

I practice Leave No Trace principles and try to give back to our community every way I can. In addition to donating a portion of my profits to organizations supporting Leave No Trace, mental health, and veterans, my family commits a donation to one non-profit each year.

LEAVE NO TRACE

Leave no trace is a set of ethics that focus on leaving the outdoors the same, if not better, than how we found it. I love helping build awareness with my couples and just everyone in general on how to best practice LNT when we are exploring and enjoying the outdoors! By practicing this and educating others we are coming together to keep nature safe and allow us to enjoy the same places 10+ years down the road!

LGBTQ+ FRIENDLY

Audrey Darke Photography is a safe space for all members of the LGBTQ+ community! All love is welcome here!

DO YOUR WEDDING YOUR WAY

THAT'S WHY WE DID IT TOO

Being in the wedding industry, I’ve seen so many ways to celebrate love, and it inspired us to craft our wedding journey in a way that felt perfect for us. We chose a 3-part celebration: part 1 in Rosemary Beach with all my favorite vendors to sign our legal paperwork, part 2 was an intimate elopement in Greece exploring Milos together for the first time, and part 3 was a weekend wedding celebration with our families. Your day can truly be anything you dream it to be, and don't let anyone tell you anything differently.

ITALY

I’ve wandered through the streets of Rome, Milan and Venice, soaked in the beauty of Lake Como and the Amalfi Coast, and explored the mountains of the Dolomites

CROATIA

I spent time exploring the coastal charm of Split and the quiet beauty of Hvar Island

USA

If I added every place I’ve been across the U.S. to this map, it would be complete chaos, so instead, I’m sharing a list below of the states that I have made it to!

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming

GREECE

In Greece, I explored the history and energy of Athens, watched sunsets over Santorini, and fell in love with the quiet coastlines of Milos, where my partner and I eloped! A place that will always hold a special piece of my heart.

GERMANY

In Germany, I wandered through the streets of Frankfurt and Regensburg, relaxed in the spa town charm of Baden Baden, and experienced the energy of Oktoberfest in Munich!

IRELAND

In Ireland, I spent time wandering through Dublin, Galway, and Belfast before exploring the Cliffs of Moher and the Giant’s Causeway.

SCOTLAND

In Scotland, I explored the historic streets of Edinburgh, made my way through Inverness, and experienced the wild beauty of the Isle of Skye.

COSTA RICA

I explored the lush beauty of Manuel Antonio National Park near Quepos and learned how to surf in Jaco

NORTH MACEDONIA

We road tripped through much of the country, starting in Skopje before making our way to Lake Ohrid and Mavrovo National Park, leaning into the slow food movement

CANADA

Canada will always feel a little like home. I lived in Toronto for about four years as a child, and over the years, I've been fortunate to return a few times and have stayed in touch with friends there as well.

MEXICO

In Mexico, I’ve spent time exploring the beaches and turquoise waters of Cozumel, Cancun, and Cabo San Lucas!
