J and AK’s spring wedding at Rosie Creek Farms in Panama City, Florida, was nothing short of magical! With a garden party vibe, the day was set against the most stunning spring backdrop, even though the forecast had threatened rain all weekend. Instead, they were blessed with perfect weather and a breathtaking sunset that felt like a personal gift just for them.

Their love story is as unique as they are. They met in a parking lot—thanks to some strategic matchmaking by J’s mom, who also happened to be AK’s advisor during grad school. With some help from a mutual friend and former roommate, their paths crossed. Despite a few missed opportunities, like a dinner that never happened, they finally met when J’s mom made a stop to pick up some coolers from J’s place on the way back from a conference. As soon as they saw each other, they both knew it was something special. Eleven months later, they were planning a wedding!

AK was the picture of joy and happiness, radiating love in every moment. It was clear that for both J and AK, the day wasn’t just about the wedding itself but about the start of their marriage. Whenever anyone asked what they were most excited about, it was never about the details of the day but about beginning their life together.

AK’s bridal look was a heartfelt tribute to her family. Her earrings and pearl necklace were heirlooms, gifts to her grandmother and great-grandmother from her grandfather’s world travels. Adding another touch of sentiment, her bouquet included cloth flowers made from the extra material of her mother’s dress. As a sweet personal touch, AK had made J a Taylor Swift bracelet, which he proudly wore throughout their wedding day. It was these thoughtful details that made the day even more special.

One of their favorite adventures together was a road trip to Delaware last summer. It was AK’s first time out of the Southeast, and they made a stop in Maryland to see the wild ponies, which was a highlight for her. It ended with J proposing once back home at Inlet Beach in Panama City during a sunset walk. She suspected he would propose in Delaware, but he completely threw her off track, and so did her mom and friends when she told them what she thought. It was the perfect surprise, complete with a picnic setup by AK’s brother, sister-in-law, and best friend. Surrounded by close friends and family, it was an intimate and intentional moment that they’ll cherish forever.

During the reception, AK’s dad gave a speech that touched everyone’s hearts. He spoke about how at peace he was knowing that J was AK’s life partner, sharing that all parents want their children to feel safe and loved in their relationships, and he knew that was exactly what J and AK had found in each other.

J and AK are the kind of couple who find joy in the little things. Whether it’s grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s, cooking together, or taking walks around their town, they make the most of every moment. They share a love for the outdoors—J’s connection to nature is especially sweet, having spent a summer working in the Tetons. They’ve even started water coloring together, finding fun in the challenge of learning something new.

Their wedding day was a beautiful reflection of their relationship—full of love, family, and the simple joys that make life together so special. As they embark on this new adventure as husband and wife, there’s no doubt that their journey will be filled with as much love and happiness as their wedding day!
