BOSTON WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER // MASSACHUSETTS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER // BOSTON ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY
This past fall, I had the absolute joy of photographing D and S’s engagement session right in their neighborhood of Beacon Hill, Boston. We kicked off the morning as the sun was coming up, starting at the iconic Public Garden. It was one of those perfect Boston mornings—sunny, crisp, and cool, making everything feel a little more magical.
S was glowing in a dress she thrifted from an antique shop in Maine during a road trip to Acadia (a story that just makes you love her more, right?). Meanwhile, D looked sharp in a jacket with a history of its own, passed down from a family friend.
Their story goes way back to English class on the first day of 8th grade. They’re both from Tampa, where S calls home, and it’s basically home for D, too. Now, they’ve made a cozy life together in Boston, with S only a short walk from work and D just a train ride away. I love how they’ve settled into their new city but still hold on to their roots in Florida.
Their engagement story? It’s one for the books! D proposed while ice skating at Boston Common, which is so fitting since their first date was ice skating. After an hour of racing each other (S said it was the best time), he pulled her to the center of the pond and popped the question. The “Best Day Ever!” as S called it.
These two are adventure lovers through and through. One of their favorite memories is staying in a literal treehouse in Asheville, NC—waaaay up in the trees. They spent the night under a sky full of stars with nothing but the sound of wind and trees around them. It was peaceful, simple, and unforgettable.
When they’re not off exploring or planning their next trip, D and S love to cook their way through Julia Child’s cookbook (they admit they’re still working on their culinary skills, but it sounds like a blast!). They also love antique shopping, bookstore browsing, and getting competitive at trivia nights at local breweries. Oh, and Scrabble showdowns happen at least once a week. They’ve even got a New York Times Wordle and Connections streak going, whether they’re together or doing it over the phone while Drew’s away for work.
With their wedding coming up next spring at the stunning Lightner Museum in Saint Augustine, I can’t wait to celebrate these two all over again!
