POSITANO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER // ITALY ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY // TRAVEL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER // RAVELLO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
W and L’s story is as sweet and exciting as their elopement day! Back in our freshman year of college at the University of Tennessee, L and I were in the same sorority and she needed a date for a party. I told her I had the perfect guy in mind—her, but in guy form (W and I went to elementary and high school together!). That match couldn’t have been more perfect because, eight years later, here we are celebrating their forever!
When L reached out about their elopement, her one request was an epic coffee table album capturing their day—the details, the landscape, and the feelings. And that’s exactly what we did. Their day was authentically them, with no poses or prompts—just W and L soaking in the Amalfi Coast and promising forever.
There’s something so special about an elopement on the coast—the golden light reflecting off the sparkling water, the historic charm of the villas, and the sheer romance of it all. W and L’s intimate elopement this past fall was every bit as magical as you’d imagine! The number 21 has been a guiding thread in their story. It’s the day they met, L’s birthday, and now, the day they said “I do.” And as they traveled through Italy, they kept experiencing little signs that reminded them they were exactly where they were meant to be. W and L’s day was a laid-back, love-filled celebration that perfectly reflected their story and their personalities.
We started the morning in the best way possible: slowly. W and L spent the morning hours writing their vows, sipping on wine, reminiscing, and soaking in the joy of the day. No rush, no chaos—just two people enjoying a lazy morning on the Amalfi Coast.
L’s grandparents also hold a huge place in her heart throughout the day. She wore her grandfather’s wedding band, engraved with their special saying, “in a while crocodile.” It was such a touching detail that added even more depth to the details.
Before they got into their wedding attire, we grabbed a quick pizza at a cozy restaurant right down the road from their hotel (because is it even an Italian elopement without pizza?). Fueled by love and carbs, we set out on the adventure of a lifetime.
From Positano, we hopped on a boat that whisked us away to Amalfi. The views were breathtaking—the kind that make you stop, breathe, and remind yourself you’re living a once-in-a-lifetime moment. From Amalfi, a winding taxi ride brought us up to Villa Rufolo in Ravello. If you’ve never been, let me just say this: the gardens are unreal. Every corner was bursting with color and life, and the panoramic views of the coastline left us speechless! For L, this stop was especially meaningful. Among the lush gardens, we found a flower that she and her mother had picked out together back home—a small, sweet reminder of family on this incredible day.
After soaking in the beauty of Ravello, we made our way back to the boat to explore the Amalfi coastline. The evening light painted everything in shades of gold and pink as we cruised along, laughing, talking, and just being. To cap it all off, W and L did something so fun—they jumped straight into the Mediterranean, letting the salt water wash over them.
Their Italian adventure didn’t end there! W and L went on to explore Capri (where we met up again!), Florence, and Rome before heading home. And as if their elopement wasn’t celebration enough, they threw a huge party with their family and friends in Nashville right after they got back. I so wish I could’ve been there to celebrate with them, but I’m beyond grateful that I got to capture their beautiful day in Italy.
W and L’s elopement wasn’t just a wedding—it was a story, a celebration, and an adventure all rolled into one. From writing vows to chasing sunsets, it was everything an Amalfi Coast elopement should be: romantic, meaningful, and absolutely unforgettable.
Congratulations, W and L! Your love story is one for the ages, and I’m so honored to have been part of your story and cannot wait for the years ahead!
