C and K’s session on the North Shore of Kauai was great—low-key, personal, and filled with moments that don’t require much direction. We began in their neighborhood, just cruising around on bikes, barefoot and laughing. It was the kind of slow start that sets the tone for everything else.

After a few loops and some quiet, sweet moments, they grabbed their surfboards, and we made our way to the beach. The sun began to dip, casting a soft and golden light—exactly the kind of glow that makes this island feel extra special.

The rest of the evening was easy and fun. Running through the sand, catching waves, and getting salty and a little sandy—it felt casual and real, more like hanging out than a photoshoot. These are the sessions I love most: nothing too polished, just two people fully in their element.
