When you picture a destination wedding in Key West, you might imagine toes in the sand. Ocean breezes—tropical florals. And a sunset you’ll never forget.
J and L’s wedding at the iconic Casa Marina Key West delivered all that—and more. Their day was filled with thoughtful heirloom details, unforgettable music, and pure joy from start to finish. It was the perfect blend of luxury and laid-back coastal charm. All flawlessly planned by Vicky Furman Events.
Let’s walk through their wedding weekend—from the beach bonfire welcome party to the final dance.
J and L kicked off their celebration with an intimate welcome party at The Reach Resort. It took place right on the beach, setting the tone for the entire weekend.
As the sun dipped over the ocean, guests gathered barefoot around bonfires and candlelit tables. They sipped cocktails and visited the custom cigar bar, which quickly became a guest favorite.
It was the ultimate laid-back island welcome. Friends and family had the opportunity to unwind, connect, and fully immerse themselves in Key West’s magic.
The morning of the wedding was filled with sunshine, a gentle sea breeze, and immense anticipation.
May Paullina brought L’s beauty vision to life with glowing makeup and soft, romantic hair. Her Ines Di Santo gown was timeless with a modern twist. Every detail felt intentional.
One of the most touching moments? L’s first look with her dad. She gifted him custom cuff links that brought tears to his eyes. It was a quiet, heartfelt pause before the celebration picked up speed.
Before the ceremony, J and L shared a private first look. It took place among the stunning architecture of Casa Marina. The moment was joyful, relaxed, and full of love.
They also exchanged private vows. Just the two of them. It was emotional, filled with laughter and happy tears.
Because we built in plenty of time for portraits, we had space to play. From breezy beach shots to golden hour glow—and even some after-dark flash fun—their portraits are full of personality.
The ceremony took place steps from the ocean, beneath swaying palms. The late afternoon sun cast a golden glow over everything.
Duarte Floral Design created a soft, romantic floral setup that blended perfectly with the tropical backdrop. The calm waves, warm breeze, and heartfelt vows made the entire ceremony feel like a dream.
Every word felt deeply meaningful. Every emotion shared was felt by all. Guests were surrounded by the love of two incredibly welcoming families.
After the ceremony, J and L enjoyed cocktail hour for a bit. Then we slipped away for some beachside portraits at dusk—and it was absolutely magical.
The Key West sunset put on a whole show. The sky lit up in vibrant shades of orange, pink, and purple. J and L ran barefoot in the sand, taking it all in as newlyweds.
Later that evening, L changed into a second look. We used flash for a more editorial vibe and created some of our favorite portraits of the day.
Their reception was a true celebration. The setting glowed with candlelight and tropical blooms. The atmosphere buzzed with joy and excitement.
One highlight? The champagne tower. It added a classic, glamorous touch.
J and L also honored family traditions. They used heirloom bride and groom glasses and vintage cake cutters that had been passed down through generations. It was such a meaningful detail. Then, it was time to dance. Curate Entertainment and DJ Jerren brought the energy. The live sax player stole the show, jumping into the crowd to play along with the beat. It was unforgettable.
Congrats, J and L. Your wedding was truly one for the books!
