At the start of this year, I photographed M and S during their winter Santa Fe couple session in the beautiful Santa Fe National Forest. While much of their life revolves around raising their two kids, this session was something different—set aside purely for them. It was a chance to step away from the everyday, spend time together outdoors, and document the kind of connection that’s grown since the very beginning.
The Santa Fe National Forest has a unique calmness in winter. Trails are quieter, the air is crisp, and the light has a softness that makes photos feel timeless. Choosing a winter Santa Fe couple session gave M and S the space to enjoy that stillness. For them, it wasn’t about staging anything—it was simply about being present with each other in a setting they both love.
M and S first connected on Instagram, and since then, they’ve built a relationship rooted in doing life side by side. They love hiking, traveling, and—most importantly—sharing those experiences with one another. Their favorite adventure is their annual trip to Hawaii, a tradition that speaks to their love for exploring new places while also slowing down together.
The same energy came through during their winter Santa Fe couple session. It wasn’t just about the photos; it was about pausing to notice the small things, the laughter, and the comfort of being with the person who feels like home.
The forest provided a backdrop that fit them perfectly—snow-dusted paths, tall trees, and a sense of peace. Photographing them felt natural because their focus wasn’t on the camera but on one another. They walked, laughed, and shared quiet moments, and in doing so, created images that reflect who they are together.
Sessions like these are a reminder that it’s worth setting aside time just for your relationship. A winter Santa Fe couple session is more than a photo shoot—it’s a chance to reconnect and create something lasting. Whether you’re marking an anniversary, planning an engagement, or simply wanting to celebrate your story as it is right now, it’s an experience that matters.
