There’s something special about a Folly Beach couples session — the mix of ocean breeze, pastel skies, and the sound of waves sets the perfect scene for connection and play. During a family trip to Charleston, South Carolina, for my cousin’s wedding, I got to photograph my youngest sister, G, and her partner, N. It was the perfect chance to capture their story during one of those golden, joy-filled evenings that feel like spring bottled up forever.
G and N are both students at the University of Tennessee and have been together since high school in Nashville. Their energy together is so easy. We ran along the shoreline, danced in the waves, and laughed until the sun dipped behind the beach houses.
If you’ve been following along for a while, you might remember that I photographed my other sister’s session earlier this year. So being able to document this one felt extra special — a continuation of storytelling within my own family. I love capturing these authentic, in-between moments, and Folly Beach gave us the most beautiful backdrop.
