D and S’s wedding at the Lightner Museum in St. Augustine perfectly blended historic charm and deeply personal moments. These two high school sweethearts, who first met in eighth-grade English class, exchanged vows after 11 years of shared adventures, inside jokes, and growing together. And their wedding day? Absolutely worth the wait.
St. Augustine delivered stunning weather for D and S’s wedding day—mid-60s and sunny. The historic backdrop of the Lightner Museum, bathed in golden Florida light, set the tone for a day filled with excitement and joy.
D and S’s love for family was woven into every aspect of their day. D honored both of his grandfathers by wearing one’s cufflinks and the other’s watch, while his father wore his own dad’s suit. Several men in the family carried heirloom watches, a quiet but meaningful tribute to generations past. (Fun fact: D once had a suit from his grandfather, but let’s just say prom night dancing wasn’t kind to the pants.)
S shared some incredibly sweet moments with her mom throughout the day—quiet exchanges while getting ready and a mother-daughter dance that soon included her sisters, making for one of the most touching moments of the evening.
One of the best surprises of the day? D gifted S a Super 8 video of their wedding day, and her reaction was pure happiness.
“Choosing Audrey was one of the easiest parts and best decisions of our wedding process! From the very first call, she was so informative and easy to talk to about everything we envisioned for our big day. It can feel overwhelming to talk to vendors but we knew that she would be a calming presence and would be able to get the emotion filled photos we really wanted. My husband and I are both pretty camera shy but the whole day felt so natural because of the calm environment that Audrey cultivates. Her communication was always top notch, whether it was discussing pricing or expectations on gallery delivery time. Our guests raved about all of the photos but especially all of the joy she captured on the dance floor or emotional ceremony while also just blending in with all the fun by being so dynamic and adaptable to the environment. We will treasure all of our photos and will reminisce on our perfect wedding day for the rest of our lives and it is all thanks to Audrey and her impeccable skill. S’s first looks were unforgettable. Her bridesmaids were overjoyed, her dad got emotional, and D’s reaction? Absolutely priceless. The Lightner Museum provided an elegant setting for these intimate moments before the whirlwind of the day officially began.
Her bouquet of tulips was simple yet sophisticated, and every carefully chosen detail felt effortless, perfectly reflecting their style.
They even carved out time to explore the museum together, soaking in the surreal magic of the day. Wandering through the historic halls, admiring the grand architecture and intricate details, gave them a rare moment of stillness amid the excitement—a chance to take it all in together.
D and S exchanged heartfelt, handwritten vows in a ceremony that felt both personal and timeless. The grandeur of the Alcazar pool room in the Lightner Museum served as the perfect setting for a moment that was all about their connection and commitment.
Their reception was a nonstop celebration. Every moment was full of joy and energy, from exciting speeches to their bubble-filled grand exit and golf cart getaway (trailing Miller Lite cans in honor of their last name).
The dance floor was electric, complete with D and S getting lifted in chairs!
From their ice-skating engagement in Boston—a full-circle moment from their first date—to stargazing in a treehouse high above the Asheville woods, Drew and Sharon’s love story has always been filled with adventure. Their wedding day was no exception.
