Southern California has all the warm sandy beaches for your ceremony and trendy postnuptial drinks spots you could want…BUT that’s just the tippity top of the (desert) iceberg! You’ll also find: sand dunes, slot canyons, islands, and stargazing! SoCal has so much to offer the couples that want to venture off the beaten path and the couples simply want to venture to a quiet spot to catch the sunset.

You already have some of the pieces for your elopement: the love of your partner, the bravery to do something different for your wedding day, and the desire to create memories, not just photographs. The next step is picking a location. A great place to start is by simply imagining your wedding day. Is there an ocean breeze, the sounds of waterfalls, or the smell of juniper? Are you dusty from dancing in desert sands or are you wet from skipping rocks into the ocean waves? If any of these ring true for you then Southern California could be the perfect place for your elopement.

Here, let me show you a few spots!

Europe is innately stunning and brimming with things to experience—what if your stay could be an extension of that experience? Reflecting the history of where you are, providing a retreat from the world, and can make something simple– like waking up in the morning– a lifelong memory.  When you picture your elopement are you in a glass igloo in Finland or a private castle in Scotland? Or kicking back at a windmill in the Dutch countryside? OR orrr diving into the Mediterranean Sea first thing in the morning? If you can’t choose then don’t fret! I’ve compiled a list that has all of that and MORE. Stays where there’s plenty of room for your loved ones to come along on the adventure and out of this world locations where the scenery can’t be beat.

There are a few things to consider when planning your Airbnb elopement in the Northeastern part of the United States. The first being WHERE do you want to elope. I know narrowing down where can be tricky so consider if there are any places you’ve been dying to go to, locations that have significance to you two as a couple, or restrictions on how far you want to travel. The second thing to consider is what TIME of year you would like to elope which can depend on a seasonal vision or a date that has some significance to you. Lastly, WHO do you want to invite to your elopement.

I feel like Airbnbs are the best kept secret when it comes to planning an intimate elopement or minimony. Imagine sitting in a cabin, the morning light streaming through the tree into your windows, & warm coffee in your hand as you take a quiet moment to write your vows. The makeup artist arrives as you get ready in a room close enough to your partner that you can hear them laugh, but far enough that you won’t catch a glimpse of one another before your first look. Once you’re ready you step out onto a patio with panoramic views of the mountains, your closest loved ones teary eyed & giddy to watch you both commit your lives to one another. After the ceremony you enjoy cocktails outside & an intimate catered dinner. You end the night in your pajamas around the fire pit, stargazing while reflecting on your wedding day.
