WOW! What a weekend! There are too many words to describe J + L’s wedding weekend, but here are a few: genuine, joyful, entertaining, and fantastic.

They opted to have an entire wedding weekend down in Cancún at Dreams Natura Resort and Spa with their favorite people. Thursday night the festivities kicked off with a ‘Bach to the 90s’ bachelorette party with L and all the girls. We started with dinner at one of the restaurants and then hit up the club where we met up with the rest of the wedding guests. Friday night was the rehearsal cocktail preceded by an entire day at the pool with the group (we found the water slides and lazy river this day!). Saturday was the best day of them all though. We got to fully focus and celebrate the love and commitment J + L have for each other and will for the rest of their lives.

Their wedding day was truly them and I would have expected nothing less! They chose to do a first look prior to the ceremony during which L gave J cuff links in the shape of Arizona, which is where they met in college. By doing a first look they got to spend the entire time after the ceremony with each other and their guests. L’s sister officiated the ceremony and that added a special level of stories and love. J + L chose to do private vows that allowed them to be fully honest in what they wrote to each other which brought out some happy tears.

I feel truly lucky to be blessed with the best people in my life and J + L are some of those people. A couple that started as friends (L first and then J!) and then led to them asking me to be part of their wedding as their photographer.

I got to meet all the people in their lives that mean the absoutle most to them. I met high school friends and college friends, siblings and parents, and long time family friends. There was something about getting to spend time with all of them prior to the wedding that made it even more personal than it already was.
